First Day of Nothing

So today was the first official day of spring. Apparently spring in my neck of the woods consists of temperatures in the 30s and 40s with gusty winds, showers throughout the day, and a chance of sleet overnight. Sounds like a great start to the season to me!

If I Had a Dollar...

...for every teaching job that I either applied for and/or interviewed for and didn't get, I would be a very, very, VERY rich person right now. Seriously. And all of the emotion that goes with these close grabs at actual teaching jobs is frustrating and extremely draining.

I have been in the field education since 2001. During that short amount of time, I have searched for a full-time teaching position for five years, one before I got my initial classroom teaching job and the past four looking for something more stable in the area since my aide job pays so lousy. FOUR YEARS. IN A ROW. Searching for the same damn thing, over and over, filling out the same paperwork year after year. It is SICKENING.
