ABC Family... Not So Much

What is the deal with ABC Family's movie choices of late? It seemed like they used to choose fare that was more in the vein of fun, romantic comedy for all ages, but some of their choices as of late have been questionable. For example, what "family" value exists in Cruel Intentions? I don't think that would exactly be a fun movie for children, teenagers and adults to watch together. The premise of the movie is a guy who wants to deflower a notorious virgin because he made a bet with his stepsister, and if he loses, he has to sleep with his stepsister. The movie is rated R, which means that it is probably heavily edited for content. What is the point? Why not just stick to lighter fare?
